What this demonstrates
Live public data turned into an interactive 3D visual.
- Live data from the free USGS earthquake feeds, refreshed every five minutes, with a saved real snapshot when the feed is down
- A WebGPU globe drawn entirely in code: no image textures, with coastlines from public-domain Natural Earth data
- Up to 4,000 glowing markers in two instanced draw calls, shaded in TSL so one source runs on WebGPU and WebGL 2
- Drag, pinch, wheel and keyboard control, plus a ranked list that works without a mouse
- Reduced-motion and no-3D fallbacks that keep every number and place readable
